He has recently started his own practice as a solo practioner but still can be found in the same office building, he’s just across the hall.
His educational foundation includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, and a Master’s Degree in American Government, as well as a Juris Doctorate Degree. From 1973 to 1987, he served as a District Representative to the late Senator Alfred Alquist. He mentors young attorneys in DUI and DMV law.
And, while Michael has emphasized his practice in the areas of drunk driving, motor vehicle and DMV cases his practice also includes all aspects of criminal defense including three strike cases. He is a member of the California DUI Defense Lawyers Association and the California Public Defenders’ Association.
Mr. Horner has also served as a Pro Tem Commissioner in the Superior Court for Santa Clara County, which has provided him with an extensive knowledge of the administration of justice in the County’s Traffic Courts.
Michael is one of the few DUI lawyers who personally attends all DMV in-person hearings to fight for his clients which are facing suspension of their driving privilege. He is well respected by his peers, police officers, DMV officers, judges and prosecutors.
